Frequently asked questions
Does the Panchang API work outside India?
Yes. Sunrise, tithi at sunrise and every muhurta window are computed for the latitude, longitude and timezone you pass, so London, Toronto or Sydney get their own correct panchang.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Every account gets 1,500 free credits a month with no card required. Paid plans start at ₹999 / $29 a month, and pay-as-you-go is available.
Can AI assistants such as Claude or Cursor call it directly?
Yes. The open-source LifeAstro MCP server exposes every endpoint as a tool for Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex and other MCP clients that run local servers, using your existing API key.
Which ephemeris and ayanamsa does it use?
Planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris. Vedic calculations use the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa by default; other ayanamsas can be selected per request.
