The World
Major Arcana · XXI · Earth
Completion — the full realisation of a cycle and the wholeness it has produced.
Upright meaning
A dancing figure, wrapped in a purple cloth, floats at the centre of a laurel wreath, surrounded by the four fixed signs of the zodiac — lion, bull, eagle, angel. The wreath closes the cycle that the Fool began. This is the card of genuine completion, of having reached the end of a meaningful journey with everything it required having been encountered, survived, and integrated. What is done is complete, and the completion is real.
Reversed meaning
The World reversed marks an incompletion that is being avoided or a completion that has not yet been fully integrated into the life. Something is being left unfinished, either because the ending is uncomfortable or because the habit of seeking the next thing before finishing the current one has interrupted the completion of a genuinely important cycle.
