The Magician
Major Arcana · I · Spirit
Will directing the resources of all four elements toward manifestation.
Upright meaning
The Magician stands before a table laid with all four suits — wand, cup, pentacle, sword — one hand raised to heaven, one pointing to earth. The channel between inspiration and form is open. What you need is already available to you. The work is to direct it deliberately: to take the vision in mind and the will in hand and to make something real from what currently exists only as possibility.
Reversed meaning
The Magician reversed points to scattered energy or misdirected skill. The resources are present — the will, the tools, the knowledge — but they are not aligned. Something is being attempted with inadequate preparation, or a genuine gift is being used for ends beneath its capacity. Return to the table, reorganise the elements, and ask what mastery actually requires rather than what it merely appears to require.
