How to fix ip_not_allowed (HTTP 403)
The key has an IP allowlist and this request came from an address outside it.
What the API returns
{
"error": {
"code": "ip_not_allowed",
"message": "request origin <ip> is not in the allowlist for this key",
"request_id": "770372810e5f2a70"
}
}Why it happens
- You enabled IP allowlisting on the key and are now calling from a new server, a CI runner or your laptop.
- Your platform uses outbound NAT or rotating egress IPs (most serverless and PaaS hosts), so the source IP changes.
How to fix it
- Dashboard → API Keys → edit the key → add the IP or CIDR shown in the error message.
- For hosts with rotating egress IPs, use a key without an allowlist and keep it server-side instead.
Should your code retry?
No. The request is deterministically rejected; fix the key, IP or parameters and send it again.
