/v1/varshaphal/muntha
Muntha position for varshaphal.
What this tells you
Muntha is a point that starts in the natal ascendant sign at birth and moves forward one sign each year. Its sign in a given year shows the life area the year emphasises. This endpoint returns only the Muntha sign and its house from the natal ascendant. The same values are inside /v1/varshaphal/chart.

| muntha.house | integer (1–12) | House of the Muntha counted from the natal ascendant sign (1 = natal lagna sign). It is not counted from the annual ascendant. example: 1Jyotish: Tajika texts judge the Muntha house from the annual ascendant: the 9th, 10th and 11th are read as a good year, the 6th, 8th and 12th as a hard one. |
Usage tips
How to use it
- House from the annual ascendantTo read the Muntha house the Tajika way, get `chart.ascendant.sign_index` from /v1/varshaphal/chart and compute ((rashi_index − ascendant sign_index + 12) mod 12) + 1.
- Headline metricThe Muntha sign is one of the most quoted data points in a yearly reading. Map `rashi_index` to a sign name in your app.
