Tarabala score for a transit.

What this tells you

Tarabala ("star strength") compares the nakshatra of the transiting Moon with the natal Janma Nakshatra. Counting from the birth nakshatra to the transit nakshatra and taking the remainder by 9 gives one of nine taras, each favourable or unfavourable. Used for day-to-day muhurta: "is the Moon's nakshatra at this moment good for me?"

`birth.date`, `birth.tz`, `date` and `tz` are all required; a missing `date` returns 400. The response has no favourable flag or remedy text: use the sign of `score`.

Request

All requests require an Authorization header with your dv_live_* API key.

tarabala.score	number	Weight of the current tara. Positive is favourable, negative is unfavourable. Janma −0.10, Sampat +0.15, Vipat −0.15, Kshema +0.12, Pratyak −0.08, Sadhana +0.10, Naidhana −0.18, Mitra +0.14, Ati-Mitra +0.18. example: `0.14`
tarabala.name	string	Tara name, one of: Janma, Sampat, Vipat, Kshema, Pratyak, Sadhana, Naidhana, Mitra, Ati-Mitra. example: `"Mitra"` Jyotish: Sampat, Kshema, Sadhana, Mitra and Ati-Mitra are favourable. Janma, Vipat, Pratyak and Naidhana are unfavourable; Naidhana (7th) is the worst.
tarabala.transit_nakshatra	string	Nakshatra of the transiting Moon at the transit moment. Always English. example: `"Revati"`
tarabala.birth_nakshatra	string	Janma Nakshatra: the natal Moon's nakshatra. Always English. example: `"Purva Phalguni"`
tarabala.position	integer (0–26)	Steps from the birth nakshatra to the transit nakshatra, counted forward, 0-based (0 = same nakshatra). The classical inclusive count is position + 1. example: `16`
tarabala.cycle_position	integer (0–8)	position mod 9. 0 = Janma, 1 = Sampat … 8 = Ati-Mitra. This value picks `name` and `score`. example: `7`

Usage tips

How to use it

Daily widget
Call once per day per user for the time you care about (for example sunrise or the planned event time). The Moon changes nakshatra about once a day. Show a soft caution when `score` is negative.
Inputs
The natal Moon comes from birth.date, birth.time and birth.tz. The transit moment comes from date, time and tz. Both time values default to 12:00 when omitted. Location is not used; both Moons are geocentric.

Errors

Every error follows the same envelope. Use the error.code field (not the message) for conditional logic in your integration.
