GET
30 credits

/v1/chart/astro-details

All-in-one birth chart snapshot: Avakhada + Ascendant + all planets + birth panchang (tithi/nakshatra/yoga/vara) + sun/moon sign — replaces 3 separate calls.

What this tells you

`astro-details` is the all-in-one birth chart snapshot. In a single 30-credit call you get: the Avakhada Chakra, the ascendant, all 9 planet positions (with `sign_index`, `nakshatra_idx`, `nak_lord`, `deg_in_sign`, `house`, `is_retro`, `speed`), sun and moon signs, and the panchang at the birth moment (tithi, nakshatra, yoga, vara). It replaces separate calls to /v1/chart/avakhada, /v1/chart/ascendant and /v1/chart/planets. Name strings are translated with `locale`.

Field reference

Every field in the response, with its type, a real example, and what it means.

FieldTypeMeaning
datestring
Birth date you sent (YYYY-MM-DD), echoed back.
example: "1990-01-15"
timestring
Birth time you sent, echoed back. "12:00" when you leave `time` out.
example: "10:30"
tzstring
Timezone you sent (IANA name or fixed offset such as +05:30), echoed back.
example: "Asia/Kolkata"
locationobject
Birth coordinates used. `alt` is in metres and is 0 unless you send `alt`.
example: { "lat": 19.076, "lon": 72.8777, "alt": 0 }
ayanamsastring
Ayanamsa used. Default lahiri; set it with the `ayanamsa` parameter (lahiri, raman, krishnamurti, fagan, yukteshwar, true_chitrapaksha).
example: "lahiri"
ayanamsa_valuenumber
Ayanamsa in degrees at the birth moment. Sidereal longitude = tropical longitude − this value.
example: 23.71795
house_systemstring
Echo of the optional `house_system` parameter (default whole_sign). This endpoint does not use it, so you never need to send it; only /v1/chart/houses changes with it. Planet `house` numbers here are always whole-sign.
example: "whole_sign"
avakhadaobject
Avakhada Chakra from the birth Moon: varna, vashya, yoni, gana, nadi, paya, tatva, rajju, nakshatra_lord, birth_stone, lucky_numbers, lucky_day, lucky_color. Same object as /v1/chart/avakhada.
example: { "varna": "Kshatriya", "vashya": "Vanchar", … }
ascendantobject
The lagna. Same object as /v1/chart/ascendant: sidereal_lon, sign_index, deg_in_sign, dms_in_sign, nakshatra_idx, pada, nak_lord, mc, house_system.
example: { "sidereal_lon": 326.391667, … }
ascendant.sign_indexinteger (0–11)
Lagna sign: 0=Aries, …, 11=Pisces.
example: 10
ascendant.nak_lordstring
Vimshottari lord of the lagna nakshatra.
example: "Jupiter"
planets[]array of 9 objects
All 9 grahas, Sun to Ketu. Same objects as /v1/chart/planets: id, name, sidereal_lon, sign_index, deg_in_sign, dms_in_sign, house, nakshatra_idx, pada, nak_lord, speed, is_retro.
example: [{ "id": "sun", "name": "Sun", … }, …]
planets[].sign_indexinteger (0–11)
Sign index (no sign name field — use sign_index for chart rendering).
example: 9
planets[].houseinteger (1–12)
Whole-sign house from the ascendant.
example: 12
sun_sign_indexinteger (0–11)
Sidereal sign of the Sun (Surya rashi), 0=Aries.

Usage tips

How to use it

  • First call for any kundli app
Call astro-details immediately after a user enters their birth data. You get everything needed to render a basic kundli card — planets, avakhada, and birth panchang — without planning multiple calls.
  • Birth panchang for naming apps
Use `birth_panchang.nakshatra_name`, `birth_panchang.nakshatra_pada` and `birth_panchang.nakshatra_lord` for naming ceremony apps and baby name suggestions.
  • Indexes start at 0
`tithi_index`, `nakshatra_index`, `yoga_index` and `vara_index` are all 0-based. Add 1 if you show them as ordinal numbers.
