/v1/chart/aspects
Graha drishti (planetary aspects).
What this tells you
Graha drishti (planetary aspects) in Vedic astrology works by house, not by exact degree. Every planet casts a 7th-house aspect. Mars also casts 4th and 8th; Jupiter also 5th and 9th; Saturn also 3rd and 10th. Aspects are always full-strength and directional (from planet to house). This response lists the houses each planet aspects and the lord of each of those houses; it does not list planet-to-planet pairs.

}Field reference
Every field in the response, with its type, a real example, and what it means.
| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| date | string | Birth date you sent (YYYY-MM-DD), echoed back. example: "1990-01-15" |
| time | string | Birth time you sent, echoed back. "12:00" when you leave `time` out. example: "10:30" |
| tz | string | Timezone you sent (IANA name or fixed offset such as +05:30), echoed back. example: "Asia/Kolkata" |
| location | object | Birth coordinates used. `alt` is in metres and is 0 unless you send `alt`. example: { "lat": 19.076, "lon": 72.8777, "alt": 0 } |
| ayanamsa | string | Ayanamsa used. Default lahiri; set it with the `ayanamsa` parameter (lahiri, raman, krishnamurti, fagan, yukteshwar, true_chitrapaksha). example: "lahiri" |
| ayanamsa_value | number | Ayanamsa in degrees at the birth moment. Sidereal longitude = tropical longitude − this value. example: 23.71795 |
| house_system | string | Echo of the optional `house_system` parameter (default whole_sign). This endpoint does not use it, so you never need to send it; only /v1/chart/houses changes with it. Planet `house` numbers here are always whole-sign. example: "whole_sign" |
| aspects[] | array of objects | One entry per (planet, aspected house) pair, grouped by planet in the order Sun to Ketu. Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus have 1 entry each; Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu have 3 each (19 in total). example: [{ "planet": "Sun", "planet_house": 12, … }, …] |
| aspects[].planet | string | Planet casting the aspect. Translated with `locale`. example: "Sun" |
| aspects[].planet_house | integer (1–12) | Whole-sign house the planet sits in. example: 12 |
| aspects[].aspected_house | integer (1–12) | House that receives the aspect, counted from `planet_house` with that house as 1 (the 7th aspect from house 12 lands on house 6). example: 6Jyotish: Every planet aspects the 7th house from itself. Mars also aspects the 4th and 8th, Jupiter the 5th and 9th, Saturn the 3rd and 10th. This API gives Rahu and Ketu the same 5th, 7th and 9th aspects as Jupiter. |
| aspects[].aspected_house_lord | string | Lord of the sign in the aspected house. Translated with `locale`. example: "Moon" |
Usage tips
How to use it
- Which planets are aspected?Join `aspected_house` with `house` from /v1/chart/planets (or with /v1/chart/house-occupants) to get the planets that receive each aspect.
- Draw aspect lines on a chartFor each entry, draw a line from `planet_house` to `aspected_house` in your chart UI.
- Filter by intensityThe special aspects of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are usually shown most prominently. Hide the plain 7th aspects if the chart gets crowded.
